Ska band Bim Skala Bim was formed in Boston in 1983 and was influenced by the bands in England's two-tone movement. Their "Boston Blue Beat" sound, a mix of upbeat two-tone ska, rock 'n' roll, and calypso, led them to be one of the premier bands kick-starting the Third Wave of Ska in the 1980s.
