Formed in Los Angeles in 2009, indie rock band Foster the People make atmospheric, psychedelic, dance-oriented pop music. Prior to the breakthrough viral success of their 2010 single, "Pumped Up Kicks," Foster the People were a relatively unknown studio project for singer/songwriter Mark Foster. Torches is their debut studio album, released in 2011.
