Punk rock band Jawbox was formed in Washington, D.C. in 1989. Their style has been described as  post-hardcore, hardcore punk and noise rock. Jawbox released four albums: Grippe (1991), Novelty (1992), For Your Own Special Sweetheart (1994), and Jawbox (1996).
