Nerd rock band Nerf Herder was formed in 1994, taking their name from an epithet in one of the many spats between Princess Leia and Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back. Their style has been described as pop punk, geek rock, and alternative rock. They released five studio albums: Nerf Herder (1996), How to Meet Girls (2000), American Cheese (2002), IV (2008), and Rockingham (2016).
