Canadian grunge duo Softcult was formed in Toronto in 2020 by twin siblings Phoenix and Mercedes Arn-Horn. The duo are known for their melding of grunge and dream pop with shoegaze, as well as their DIY and riot grrrl inspired ethics. Year of the Rat is the debut EP by Softcult, released in 2021.
